Cape Town Culinary Tours is one of our PPC and Google Ads clients. They were looking to grow their online sales channels and pull in more sales for their tour business. We suggested a collaboration with one of our social media clients @secretcapetown that would benefit both communities.
It was a huge success which grew their Instagram following by more than 900 followers and more than doubled their following.

Competitions between two accounts are one of the easiest ways to do this.
We structured a competition where entrants stood the chance of winning one of Cape Town Culinary Tours excursions for two people. They would get the chance of discovering the amazing food Cape Town has to offer.
Entrants needed to:
- Like the post
- Follow both accounts
- Tag a friend who would love to join them on the tour
Really simple and easy to do.
Competitions work extremely well on instagram as people love to win exciting experiences and the entry was simple and easy to achieve. Tagging their friends in the post guarantees that your profile will be seen by more than just your community which allows you to broaden your following while also creating engagement on the post which the Instagram algorithm loves.
It is always important to make sure that a collaboration connects two communities that are connected. @secretcapetown and @ct.culinary were the perfect fit as they both fit into the “things to do in Cape Town” niche.
The Results
@ct.culinary grew their following by more than 900 followers which almost doubled their Instagram following.
During the competition we also ran a promotion to encourage viewers interested in the tours to make their own bookings before the competition was finished. Over R 30 000 in sales was generated by the promotion during the week of the competition.
