@secretcapetown is an instagram page and website about things to do in Cape Town and the beautiful locations and activities to be discovered. Storyteller has been involved with the account and website since the beginning and we are ecstatic with how well the account has done on social media.
@secretcapetown was started in March of 2018 and it took 11 months to reach its first 10 000 followers which shows fantastic growth. Since then the brand has built incredible momentum and is set to be one of the largest Cape Town travel accounts in South Africa.
How?
Storyteller uses a highly repeatable formula to drive growth on social media. It is driven by data rather than guess work. We can attribute our success to four main factors.
Research:
We perform extensive research before we post any content for our clients. We study their competitors and influencers in their industry and segment, we build detailed lists of the best hashtags to use and how we can be featured in them and we create a BPP content outline that is central to the creative content and imagery that is posted.
What is a BPP?
A BPP is a “Best Performing Post” we look through our list of competitors and influencers and study how their followers are interacting and engaging with the content they are releasing. This tells us what kind of posts will do well and what we need to focus on in terms of content.
Encourage Engagement:
Post engagement is essential for content to be seen by your audience as well as potential new followers. We write post captions that encourage followers to leave comments and like the posts they are seeing.
Consistency:
Social media algorithms reward consistency. So we work with the best scheduling tools to plan out our social media campaigns and initiatives.
Collaboration:
Collaborations allow @secretcapetown to connect and work with our brands and accounts in Cape Town for the benefit of both communities. This is one of the fastest ways to boost growth and influence.
