Atlantic Outlook runs kayaking and surf ski tours in Sea Point, Cape Town. They were looking to break through the 10K barrier so they could start to use Instagram’s swipe up technology to drive more sales to their business. We suggested a collaboration with one of our social media clients @secretcapetown as its followers love outdoor experiences and tours in Cape Town.
Through the collaboration they smashed through the 10K flower mark and are now able to link to their booking platform from their instagram stories.
Collaboration is one of our four pillars that we use to create awesome social media campaigns and it is a fantastic way to boost growth quickly while giving back to your community.
Competitions between two accounts are one of the easiest ways to do this.
We structured a competition where entrants stood the chance of winning a kayak trip for two people worth R950.
Entrants needed to:
- Like the post
- Follow both accounts
- Tag a friend who loves sushi
Really simple and easy to do.
Competitions work extremely well on instagram as people love to win prizes especially exciting experiences or tours they can share. Tagging their friends in the post guarantees that the profile will be seen by more than just this community which allows us to broaden your following while also creating engagement on the post which the Instagram algorithm loves.
It is always important to make sure that a collaboration connects two communities that are related. @secretcapetown and @atlanticoutlook are perfectly suited as they both fall into the “things to do in cape Town” niche.
@atlanticoutlook grew their following by just over 1200 followers which pushed them above the sought after 10k follower mark.
Now that they have reached 10K followers they are able to link to their website and booking platform from their Instagram stories and drive more sales.
