Dr Chiba is a holistic psychiatrist based in Johannesburg. She was already one of our Google Ads customers and had been seeing a lot of success with this form of marketing growing her practice. She said she want to grow her business and diversify her income and escape the trap that many medical professionals face of only being able to earn at their prescribed hourly rate.
She wanted to get more people into her meditation online courses and classes. We suggested that social media would be the best way to do this.
Goals:
We wanted to introduce Dr Chiba to the world and develop her voices a holistic psychiatrist and meditation expert. The main aim of the social media campaign was to drive traffic and sign ups to her online meditation offerings.
To do this we needed to do two things:
- Grow her following and influence online.
- Drive traffic from her social media platforms to her website where followers could sign up for her courses and classes.
How?
The Storyteller social team worked with Dr Chiba to understand what her unique offering was within the psychiatric profession. Dr Chiba focuses on a holistic approach to mental health and believes strongly in a healthy lifestyle and mediation.
We then used our tried and tested pillars to develop her social media plan and make sure her content was always driven by the social media strategy for her goals.
Research:
We first dived into our research phase to see what kind of messaging is needed with in the mental health space, what kinds of posts generate the most engagement and what kind of information would connect the best with her target audience.
Finding Her Voice:
One of the first tests was to find Dr Chiba’s voice. This is not always easy as the subject needs to get comfortable talking in front of the camera, talking to a screen and hearing their own voice in the recordings.
We coached Dr Chiba along the way so she could share her passion for mental health in an accessible way.
Content Pillars:
From our research we created a number of content pillars for Dr Chiba including motivational quotes, IGTV videos, short videos, inspirational words and imagery and informational posts concerning mental health issues.
For any content being generated the Storyteller team asked themselves which pillar it fit into and which of the goals would the post help to acheive.
Traffic Generation:
We used swipe up stories and calls for followers to click the link in Dr Chiba’s bio in order to drive traffic from Dr Chiba’s social media accounts to her website where they could make appointments with her and join her online mediation courses and classes.
We also used engagement boosting techniques, such as sliders, polls and questions, in our story structures to help boost how many people sawDr Chiba’s stories.
Consistency:
Social media algorithms reward consistency, so it is important to have a posting schedule. Storyteller set up Dr Chiba’s social media calendar for each month and scheduled the posts through our social media scheduling software making sure we had a good spread of the different kinds of posts depending on the goals for the month.
The Results
@drgaveetachibahas seen strong consistent growth on her social media accounts. Her following has grown 522% over the 6 months of 2020 and continues to grow in 2021. More importantly Dr Chiba’s practice is full and she often has to open extra slots to meet the demand to come and see her.
Her mediation classes and courses are also seeing strong attendance and we are working with her to develop more of these courses in 2021.
